CARES Act, CRRSA Act, and ARP Act (Updated as of 3/31/2022)

Brown & Clermont Adult Career Campuses was previously awarded funds from the United States Department of Education to help students during the coronavirus pandemic.   The funds, which have now been exhausted, were derived from three legislative sources:  

1. Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, 

2. Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act; and 

3. American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act

The portion of the funds identified by the Federal Government as Student Portion were available to all eligible students to use for any component of the studentโ€™s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arose due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care), or child care in accordance with the CARES Act, CRRSA Act, and ARP Act.  This money was distributed equally to all eligible students to help cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus (including eligible expenses under a student's cost of attendance such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care and child care. As of March 31, 2022, 34 students have been eligible and 34 students received an equal portion of these funds.  Funds were divided by the number of students eligible and dispersed to them appropriately. 

The portion of funds identified by the Federal Government as the Institutional Portion could be used for emergency grants to students or for costs associated with significant changes of delivery of instruction due to the coronavirus.  

As of March 31, 2022, 34 students received an emergency grant. 

Brown & Clermont Adult Career Campuses has signed and returned to the US Department of Education the Certification and Agreement along with the assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than fifty percent of the funds received under the CARES Act, CRRSA Act, and ARP Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.  

Students who received emergency grants wer notified by phone, email, or a letter in the mail explaining the source and use of the funds.
